AWRAD in Morocco

Political Party Development

AWRAD’s General Director Dr. Nader Said meets with young leaders in a focus group aimed at the development of six political parties in Morocco.

The project (Political Party Development) involves three phases:

Phase one: which is a preliminary phase, where AWRAD holds consultations with high-level leaders of the six parties involved in this project (Independence Party, The Popular Movement, The National Rally for Independents, The Socialist Union of Popular Forces, The Constitutional Union, and The Party of Progress and Socialism). During this phase, AWRAD holds 7 focus groups with members of political groups to identify the issues, needs and priorities as viewed by them. This phase would result in a preliminary report that includes recommendations for the parties, but also a well-developed methodology and questionnaire for future implementation. Each party will also receive its own unique report.

Phase two: during this phase, AWRAD will finalize questionnaire through further consultations with parties. A (pilot) implementation of the questionnaire will take place. About 20 Moroccan field researchers and facilitators will be trained.

Phase three: AWRAD will carry out a large – scale research process, where its researchers will interview 1200 members of party grassroots’ members. For each party, 4 regions will be selected and 200 members will be interviewed. To compliment the quantitative data, AWRAD will conduct 24 focus groups in the various regions in Morocco, a comprehensive report that analyses the needs and recommendations for party development in Morocco and 6 specialized reports will be part for each of the parties involved in the research.

AWRAD experienced staff and experts conduct high-quality independent research, and produce innovative recommendations and policy solutions. AWRAD's motto is "Quality Research Matters".
