Following the release of USAID’s Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy, several missions have taken concrete steps to implement the policy within the program cycle. The USAID Mission to the West Bank and Gaza (WBG) recently hosted training for 47 mission staff, which gave USAID staff an overview of the Agency’s new gender policy; updated the Mission’s gender analysis tools; and provided guidance to incorporate gender into development program planning.
After a similar gender integration training, the USAID Haiti Mission staff and partners are now mapping innovative and comprehensive ways to address gender gaps in solicitations and proposals. These examples set a tone for how the new policy is being incorporated into Program Cycle globally.
