The President of AWRAD was received by leaders of six prominent parties in Morocco (Istiqlal, USFP, MP, UC, RNI and PPS) between September 23-27, 2008. Dr. Said submitted to the leaders a report on the future of Moroccan political parties, with analysis and recommendations. The report is based on a three-phase study that took place during 2007 and 2008. (for more details)
Dr. Said met with: Ismail Allaoui (PPS – Secretary General and former Minsiter of Agriculture and Education), Mohand Laensar (MP – Secretary General and former Minister in three governments), Latifa Bennani Smires (Istiqlal – President of the Istiqlal Group in the Parliament), Aissa Ouardighi (USFP – Member of Political Bureau), Mohamed Tamaldou (UC – General Director of the Party and Member of Political Bureau), and Mohamed Aujjar (RNI - Member of Political Bureau and former Minister of Human Rights). The leaders of the parties were responsive and enthusiastic abut the report and its recommendations. They asserted that the report will be utilized to further consolidate the ongoing reform work in the parties.
